It is used to treat arthritis. It reduces pain, swelling, and stiffness of the joints.
Indigestion, headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, congestive heart failure, hypertension.
Hypersensitivity, salicylate allergy, bleeding disorder, late pregnancy, severe hepatic impairment.
Before taking meloxicam, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to aspirin or other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun. Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Tell your doctor right away if you get sunburned or have skin blisters/redness.
It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. However, similar drugs pass into breastmilk and are unlikely to harm a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially stomach bleeding and kidney problems.
Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
